SHEFKI KUQI fears football will NEVER be able to kick out racism completely iv> SHEFKI KUQI fears football will NEVER completely kick out racism.

Oldham's veteran striker Kuqi helped calm down team-mate Tom Adeyemi when he was reduced to tears after being a target for vile abuse during last week's FA Cup defeat at Liverpool.

A 20-year-old man is currently on bail pending further police inquiries.

Kuqi also suffered at the hands of racists in Finland after he fled the war in his homeland Kosovo during the 1990s.

And he believes it will always be around the game.

The 35-year-old said: "Everyone is doing a lot of work on it everywhere, but I don't think it will ever go away.

"Wherever you go, you're always going to have somebody trying to be clever.

"I've been called different things and when I was in Finland I had loads of different things going on outside the pitch because I was a foreigner.

"I'd never seen Tom as angry as he was.

"But he isn't the first one and I don't think he'll be the last."
